Psalm 101 Prayed

Psalm 101 Prayed
Seeking more grace so I can obey from the heart

   I will sing of your love and justice;

            to you, Lord, I will sing praise.
   For O my great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ,
            you gave yourself for me
   to redeem me from all wickedness
            and to purify for yourself a people that are
            your very own,
            eager to do what is good.

   In view of your mercy to me, O Jesus,
             I will offer my body as a living sacrifice,
            holy and pleasing to God
            this is my spiritual act of worship.
   I no longer want to be conformed to the pattern of
            this world,
            so transform me by the renewing of my mind.
   Then I will be able to test and approve what your
            will is.
            Your good, pleasing and perfect will.

   I will be careful to lead a blameless life –

            when will you come to me?
   For you have promised me that your divine power
            has given me everything I need for life
            and godliness,
   through my knowledge of you, Jesus,
            because you called me by your own glory and
            goodness.

   So fill me with the knowledge of your will
            through all spiritual wisdom and
            understanding.
   May I live a life worthy of you, O Lord
            and may I please you in every way:
   bearing fruit in every good work,
            growing in the knowledge of you, O God.
 Strengthen me with all power
            according to your glorious might,
   so that I may have great endurance and patience,
            and joyfully give thanks to you, O Father.
   For you have qualified me to share
            in the inheritance of the saints
            in the kingdom of light.
   You have rescued me from the dominion of
            darkness
            and brought me into the kingdom of your Son
            whom you love.
   In him I have redemption,
            the forgiveness of sins.

   With your divine power
            and forgiveness enabling me,
   may I conduct the affairs of my house

            with a blameless heart.

   May I set before my eyes
            no vile thing.
   Help me turn off the TV and filter my internet,
            so that my heart will not sin against you.
   I hate what faithless people do;

            may I have no part in it.
   May the perverse of heart shall be far from me;

            I want nothing to do with what is evil.

   Whoever slanders their neighbour in secret,

            help me put to silence;
   by refusing to pass on gossip,
            or even listen to it.
   Whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart,

            may I not tolerate.
            May celebrities and the famous not enchant
            me.

   May my eyes be on the faithful in my church,

            that they may dwell with me;

   may those whose way of life
            is more blameless than mine
            minister to me.

   Let no one who practises deceit
            dwell in my house;

   or one who speaks falsely
            stand in my presence.

   O Lord Jesus, every morning put to silence

            all the wicked in the land;

   Cut off every evildoer

            from the City of the Lord.
   For you loved the church
            and gave yourself up for her
            to make her holy,
   cleansing her by the washing with water
            through the word,
   and to present her to yourself as a radiant church,
            without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish,
            but holy and blameless.

Psalm 101
Of David. A psalm.

1   I will sing of your love and justice;
            to you, O LORD, I will sing praise.
Titus 2:13 …our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
Rom. 12:1  Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.  2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
2a   I will be careful to lead a blameless life—
            when will you come to me?
2Pet. 1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

Col. 1:9 …asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.  10 And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,  11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.  13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,  14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

2b I will walk in my house
            with blameless heart.

3   I will set before my eyes
            no vile thing.

     The deeds of faithless men I hate;
            they will not cling to me.
4   Men of perverse heart shall be far from me;
            I will have nothing to do with evil.

5   Whoever slanders his neighbour in secret,
            him will I put to silence;

     whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart,
            him will I not endure.

6   My eyes will be on the faithful in the land,
            that they may dwell with me;
      he whose walk is blameless
            will minister to me.

7  No one who practises deceit
            will dwell in my house;
     no one who speaks falsely
            will stand in my presence.

8   Every morning I will put to silence
            all the wicked in the land;

      I will cut off every evildoer
            from the city of the LORD.
Eph. 5:25 …Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,  27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
