Psalm 98 Prayed

Psalm 98 Prayed
Praising Jesus as Lord, Saviour and Judge
of Jew and Gentile

    Lord Jesus, we sing to you a new song,
            for you have done marvellous things;
   your right hand and your holy arm
            have worked salvation for us.
   For the gospel is the power of God
            for the salvation of everyone who believes:
            First for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
   You rescued Paul from his own people,
             and from the Gentiles.
   You sent him to us,
            to open our eyes,
            and to turn us from darkness to light,
   and from the power of Satan to God,
            so that we may receive forgiveness of sins,
            and a place among those who are sanctified by
            faith in you.
   You have made your salvation known
            and revealed your righteousness to the nations.
   Even we Gentiles,
            who did not pursue righteousness,
            have obtained it;
            a righteousness that is by faith.
   For through the gospel we are heirs
            together with Israel,
            members together of one body,
            and sharers together in the promise
            in you, Jesus Christ,
   because you remembered your love
            and your faithfulness to the house of Israel,
            when you promised to their forefather
            Abraham;
   “Through your offspring all nations on earth will
            be blessed.”
   Therefore all the ends of the earth will see
            the salvation of our God.

   Shout for joy to the Lord Jesus, all the earth,
            burst into jubilant song with music;
   make music to the Lord with the guitar,
            with the guitar and the sound of singing,
   with trumpets and the blast of the mighty organ —
            shout for joy before the Lord Jesus, the King.
    Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
            the world, and all who live in it.
   Let the rivers clap their hands,
            let the mountains sing together for joy;
   let them sing before the Lord Jesus,
            for he comes to judge the earth.

   You will judge the world in righteousness
            and the peoples with equity.
   For we must all appear
            before your judgment seat, O Christ,
   that each one may receive what is due to him
            for the things done in the body,
            whether good or bad.
   And at the name of Jesus every knee will bow,
            in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
   and every tongue confess that you are Lord,
            to the glory of God the Father.

   Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
