Psalm 127 Prayed

Psalm 127 Prayed
Praying for the Church & Christian Families

Unless you, Lord Jesus, build this house,
              its builders labour in vain.
For you have been found worthy
              of greater honour than Moses,
just as the builder of a house
has greater honour than the house itself.
For every house is built by someone,
but you are God, the builder of everything.
   You, O Christ, are faithful
as the Son over God’s house.
   And we are your house,
if we hold on to our courage
and the hope of the gospel,
              of which we boast.
Unless you, O Lord, watch over this city,
the watchmen stand guard in vain.
Without you, Jesus, in vain we would rise early
              and stay up late,
   toiling for food to eat—
for you grant sleep to those you love.

Children are a heritage from you, O Lord,
              children a reward from you.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born into Christian families.
   Bless those
whose quiver is full of them.
   Therefore, since you have promised us;
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ,
              and you will be saved,
              you and your household,”
              have mercy on our families.
Do not let us be put to shame
when we contend  for Christian families
with those who oppose you in our
              Government.

Psalm 127
A song of ascents. Of Solomon.

1a   Unless the LORD builds the house,
              its builders labour in vain.
Heb. 3:3 Jesus has been found worthy of greater honour than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honour than the house itself.  4 For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.  5 Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house, testifying to what would be said in the future.  6 But Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast.
1b Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchmen stand guard in vain.
2   In vain you rise early
              and stay up late,
     toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to those he loves.

3   Sons are a heritage from the LORD,
              children a reward from him.
4   Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are sons born in one’s youth.
5a Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.

Acts 16:31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”

5b They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their enemies in
              the gate.
