Psalm 122 Prayed

Psalm 122 Prayed
Praying for the Church

I rejoiced with those who said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
   Our feet are standing
              in your gates, O Jerusalem;
for the Jerusalem that is above and is free,
              who is our mother,
and our Father raised us with you, Christ Jesus
and has seated us with you
              in heavenly realms.

Lord Jesus, build the Church like a city
              that is closely compacted together.
That is where the denominations must go up,
              your denominations, Lord Jesus,
to praise your name, Lord Jesus,
according to the Scriptures given to the
              Church.
So teach us from the Bible, O God,
how to conduct ourselves in your household
so we may be the Church of the living God,
the pillar and foundation of the truth.
   There make the thrones for judgment stand;
the pulpits of the house of Jesus, the Son of
              David.
So build us to be your Church
on the foundation of the teaching
of Peter, the apostles and prophets,
with you, Christ Jesus, as the chief cornerstone,
certain that the gates of Hades will not
              overcome us.

We also pray for the peace of the Church:
“May those who love the Church
              be secure.
   May grace, mercy and peace,
              from God the Father
and from you, Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son,
be with us in truth and love.
May there be peace within our walls
              and security within our citadels.”

For the sake of my brothers, sisters and friends,
I will say, “Peace be within you.”
For the sake of the house of the Lord Jesus,
              our God,
              we will seek her prosperity.

Psalm 122
A song of ascents. Of David.

1   I rejoiced with those who said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the LORD.”
2   Our feet are standing
              in your gates, O Jerusalem.
Gal. 4:26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.
Eph. 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
3   Jerusalem is built like a city
              that is closely compacted together.
4   That is where the tribes go up,
              the tribes of the LORD,
to praise the name of the LORD
according to the statute given to Israel.
1Tim. 3:15 if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
5   There the thrones for judgment stand,
the thrones of the house of David.
Eph. 2:20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.
Matt. 16:18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

6   Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May those who love you be secure.
2John 3  Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son, will be with us in truth and love.
7              May there be peace within your walls
              and security within your citadels.”

8   For the sake of my brothers and friends,
I will say, “Peace be within you.”
9   For the sake of the house of the LORD our
              God,
              I will seek your prosperity.
