Psalm 63 Prayed

Psalm 63 Prayed
Delighting in the gospel and Jesus

   O Jesus, you are my God,
            earnestly I seek you;
   my soul thirsts for you,
            my body longs for you,
   in a dry and weary land
            where there is no water.

   I have seen you in the sanctuary of my church
            and beheld your power and your glory.
   Because your love is better than life,
            my lips will glorify you.
    I will praise you as long as I live,
            and in your name I will lift up my hands.
    My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of
            foods;
            with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

   For your kindness and love has appeared,
            O my God and Saviour.
   You saved me,
            not because of righteous things I have done,
            but because of your mercy.
   You saved me through the washing of rebirth
            and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
   whom you poured out on me generously,
            for you are Jesus Christ my Saviour,
   so that, having been justified by your grace,
            I might become an heir,
            having the hope of eternal life.

   On my bed I remember you, Lord Jesus
            I think of you through the watches of the night.
   Because you are my help,
            I sing in the shadow of your wings.
   My soul clings to you;
            your right hand upholds me.

   When the darkness surrounds me,
            when hope seems far off, remind me:
   Those spiritual enemies who seek my life will be
            destroyed;
            they will go down to the depths of the earth.
   They will be given over to the sword
            and become food for jackals.
   For you did not spare angels when they sinned,
            but sent them to hell,
   putting them into gloomy dungeons
            to be held for judgment.
   And these angels,
            who did not keep their positions of authority,
   but abandoned their own home,
            these you have kept in darkness,
   bound with everlasting chains
            for judgment on the great Day.

   Therefore, King Jesus, you are rejoicing
            in the presence of God your Father.
   May all who swear by your name praise you,
            and let the mouths of liars be silenced.

Psalm 63
A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah.

1   O God, you are my God,
            earnestly I seek you;
      my soul thirsts for you,
            my body longs for you,
      in a dry and weary land
            where there is no water.

2   I have seen you in the sanctuary
            and beheld your power and your glory.
3   Because your love is better than life,
            my lips will glorify you.
4   I will praise you as long as I live,
            and in your name I will lift up my hands.
5   My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of
            foods;
            with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

Titus 3:4 But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour appeared,  5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,  6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Saviour,  7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

6   On my bed I remember you;
            I think of you through the watches of the
            night.
7   Because you are my help,
            I sing in the shadow of your wings.
8   My soul clings to you;
            your right hand upholds me.

9   They who seek my life will be destroyed;
            they will go down to the depths of the
            earth.
10  They will be given over to the sword
            and become food for jackals.
2Pet. 2:4  For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment;
Jude 6 And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own home—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.
11  But the king will rejoice in God;
            all who swear by God’s name will praise
            him,
            while the mouths of liars will be silenced.
