Psalm
126 Prayed
Praying for the spiritual
harvest
O Lord, when you brought us to
our senses,
and
we escaped the trap of the devil
who has taken us captive to do
his will,
we
were like those who dreamed.
For we were born again,
not
of perishable seed,
but
of imperishable,
through
the living and enduring word of God.
Our
mouths would be filled with laughter,
our
tongues with songs of joy.
So let
it be said among the nations,
‘The
Lord has done great things for them.’
O Lord
you have done great things for us
and
we are filled with joy.
Restore our fortunes, O Lord
Jesus,
like
streams in the desert.
Open our eyes and make us look
at the fields,
O
Lord!
Help
us to see that they are ripe for harvest.
The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
We
therefore ask you, the Lord of the harvest,
to
send out workers into your harvest field.
I pray that we may be active in
sharing our faith,
so
that we will have a full understanding
of
every good thing we have in Christ.
May we sow in tears of
compassion for the lost
and
reap with songs of joy.
May we go out weeping,
carrying
the seed of the Word to sow.
May the seed of the gospel fall on good soil,
and
let people hear the word and understand it.
May they produce a crop,
yielding
a hundred, sixty or thirty times
what
was sown.
Then we return with songs of
joy,
carrying
sheaves of those you saved with us.
