Psalm 33 Prayed

Psalm 33 Prayed
Praising God for the world-changing gospel

   We sing joyfully to you, Lord Jesus,
            for you have made us righteous;
            it is fitting for us to praise you.
   We will praise you Lord with the piano;
            make music to you on the guitar.
   We will sing to you a new song;
            we will play skilfully, and shout for joy.
   O, let the word of Christ dwell in us richly,
            as we sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs,
   with gratitude in our hearts to you, O God,
            and make music in our hearts to the you.

   For your Word, O Lord, is right and true;
            you are faithful in all you do.
   Lord, you love righteousness and justice;
            the earth is full of your unfailing love.

   In the beginning was the Word,
            and the Word was with you, O God,
            and the Word was God.
   Through him all things were made;
            without him nothing was made
            that has been made.
   And by the Word of the Lord
            were the heavens made,
            their starry host by the breath of his mouth.

   You gather the waters of the sea into jars;
            you put the deep into storehouses.
   Let all the earth fear you, O Lord Jesus;
            let all the people of the world revere you.
   For you spoke, and it came to be;
            you commanded, and it stood firm.
   You foil the plans of the nations, O Lord;
            you thwart the purposes of the peoples.
   Your plans O Lord Jesus, stand firm forever,
            the purposes of your heart through all
            generations.

   Great and marvellous are your deeds,
            Lord God Almighty.
   Just and true are your ways,
            King of the ages.
   Who will not fear you, O Lord,
            and bring glory to your name?
   For you alone are holy.
            All nations will come
            and worship before you,
            for your righteous acts have been revealed.
   Blessed are those nations whose God
            is the Lord Jesus,
            the peoples you chose for your inheritance.
   Look down from heaven O Lord Jesus,
            and see all mankind;
   from your dwelling place watch
            all who live on earth—
   You are he who forms the hearts of all,
            who considers everything they do.

   No politician is saved by the size of his army;
            no army escapes by its great strength.
   A tank is a vain hope for deliverance;
            despite all its great strength it cannot save.
   Let your eyes be on those who fear you, O Lord,
            on those whose hope is in your unfailing love.
   Only you can deliver us from death
            and keep us alive in famine.

   You have promised, O Lord,
            to judge between the nations
            and settle disputes for many peoples.
   Then they will beat their swords into ploughshares
            and their spears into pruning hooks.
   Nation will not take up sword against nation,
            nor will they train for war anymore.

   So we wait in hope for you, O Lord Jesus;
            you are our help and our shield.
   In you our hearts rejoice,
            for we trust in your holy name.
   May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord,
            even as we put our hope in you.
   Raise up missionaries, send them out,
            bless their labours and add great multitudes
             to your kingdom.
   For a large population is a king’s glory,
          but without subjects a prince is ruined.

Psalm 33

1   Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous;
            it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
2   Praise the LORD with the harp;
            make music to him on the
            ten-stringed lyre.
3   Sing to him a new song;
            play skilfully, and shout for joy.
Col. 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.  Eph. 5:19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord.
4   For the word of the LORD is right and true;
            he is faithful in all he does.
5    The LORD loves righteousness and justice;
            the earth is full of his unfailing love.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… 3  Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
6   By the word of the LORD were the heavens
            made,
            their starry host by the breath of his
            mouth.
7   He gathers the waters of the sea into jars;
            he puts the deep into storehouses.
8   Let all the earth fear the LORD;
            let all the people of the world revere him.
9   For he spoke, and it came to be;
            he commanded, and it stood firm.
10  The LORD foils the plans of the nations;
            he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
11  But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever,
            the purposes of his heart through all
            generations.

Rev. 15:3 … “Great and marvellous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the ages. 4 Who will not fear you, O Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”
12  Blessed is the nation whose God is the
            LORD,
            the people he chose for his inheritance.
13  From heaven the LORD looks down
            and sees all mankind;
14  from his dwelling place he watches
            all who live on earth—
15  he who forms the hearts of all,
            who considers everything they do.

16  No king is saved by the size of his army;
            no warrior escapes by his great strength.
17  A horse is a vain hope for deliverance;
            despite all its great strength it cannot save.
18  But the eyes of the LORD are on those who
            fear him,
            on those whose hope is in his unfailing
            love,
19  to deliver them from death
            and keep them alive in famine.
Is. 2:4  He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.
20  We wait in hope for the LORD;
            he is our help and our shield.
21  In him our hearts rejoice,
            for we trust in his holy name.
22  May your unfailing love rest upon us,
           O LORD,
           even as we put our hope in you.

Prov. 14:28  A large population is a king’s glory, but without subjects a prince is ruined.
