Psalm 30 Prayed

Psalm 30 Prayed
Praising God for the Gospel

   I will exalt you, O Lord, my Heavenly Father,
            for you lifted Jesus out of the depths
            and did not let his enemies gloat over him.
   O Lord my God, Jesus called to you for help
            and you healed him.
   O Lord, you brought him up from the grave;
            you spared him from going down into the pit.

   They killed him by hanging him on a tree,
            but you, O God, raised him from the dead
            on the third day,
             and caused him to be seen.
   He was not seen by all the people,
            but by witnesses whom you had
            already chosen—
   by the apostles who ate and drank with him
            after he rose from the dead.

   Like the rest,
            I was by nature an object of wrath.
   But because of your great love for me,
            O God who is rich in mercy,
   you made me alive with Christ
            even when I was dead in transgressions—
            it is by grace I have been saved.
   You raised me up with Christ
            and seated me with him
            in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
   in order that in the coming ages you might show
            the incomparable riches of your grace,
            expressed in your kindness to me
            in Christ Jesus.
   For it is by grace you saved me, through faith—
            and this not from myself,
   it is your free gift, O God—
            not by works, so that I can never boast.

   Sing to the Lord, you saints of his;
            praise his holy name.
   For his anger lasts only a moment,
            but his favour lasts eternally;
   weeping may remain for a night,
            but rejoicing comes in the morning.
   When I felt secure in your love, I said,
            “I will never be shaken.”
   O Lord, when you favoured me,
            you made my mountain stand firm;
  but when you hid your face,
            I was dismayed.

   To you, O Heavenly Father, I called;
            to the Lord I cried for mercy:
   “What gain is there in my destruction,
            in my going down into the pit?
   Will the dust praise you?
            Will it proclaim your faithfulness?
   Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me;
            O Father, be my help.
   Help me to consider everything a loss
            compared to the surpassing greatness
            of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord,
   for whose sake I may I be willing
            to loose all things.
   May I consider them rubbish,
            that I may gain Christ and be found in him,
            not having a righteousness of my own
            that comes from the law,
            but that which is through faith in Christ—
   the righteousness that comes from you, O God
            and is by faith.
   I want to know Christ and the power
            of his resurrection
   and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings,
            becoming like him in his death,
            and so attain to the resurrection from the dead.

   By the gospel, you turned my wailing into dancing;
            you removed my sackcloth
            and clothed me with joy,
   that my heart may sing to you
            and not be silent.
   O Lord my God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
            I will give you thanks forever.

Psalm 30
A psalm. A song.
For the dedication of the temple. Of David.

1   I will exalt you, O LORD,
            for you lifted me out of the depths
            and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
2   O LORD my God, I called to you for help
            and you healed me.
3   O LORD, you brought me up from the grave;
            you spared me from going
           down into the pit.
Acts 10:39  ...They killed him by hanging him on a tree,  40 but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen.  41 He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
Eph. 2:3 ..Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.  4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,  5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.  6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,  7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.  8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—  9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

4   Sing to the LORD, you saints of his;
            praise his holy name.
5   For his anger lasts only a moment,
            but his favour lasts a lifetime;
     weeping may remain for a night,
            but rejoicing comes in the morning.
6   When I felt secure, I said,
            “I will never be shaken.”
7   O LORD, when you favoured me,
            you made my mountain stand firm;
      but when you hid your face,
            I was dismayed.

8   To you, O LORD, I called;
            to the Lord I cried for mercy:
9   “What gain is there in my destruction,
            in my going down into the pit?
      Will the dust praise you?
            Will it proclaim your faithfulness?
10  Hear, O LORD, and be merciful to me;
            O LORD, be my help.”
Phil. 3:8 What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.  10 I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,  11 and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.

11  You turned my wailing into dancing;
            you removed my sackcloth
            and clothed me with joy,
12  that my heart may sing to you
            and not be silent.
      O LORD my God,
            I will give you thanks forever.
