Psalm 105 Prayed

Psalm 105 Prayed
Rejoicing in our inherited promises

Thanking God for the promise given to Abraham
   We give thanks to you O Lord, we call on your
            name;
            We want to make known among the nations
            what you have done.
   We sing to you, we sing praise to you;
            we will tell of all your wonderful acts.
   We glory in your holy name.
            Let the hearts of those who seek you rejoice,
            O Lord.
   For we look to you and your strength;
            we seek your face always.

   We remember the wonders you have done, O Lord,
            your miracles, and the judgments you
            pronounced.
   For we are descendants of Abraham
            your servant:
   Since we belong to Christ,
           we are Abraham’s seed,
            and heirs according to the promise.
   We are children of Jacob,
            your chosen ones,
   chosen in Christ before the creation of the world,
            to be holy and blameless in your sight.
   You are the Lord our God;
            your judgments are in all the earth.

   You remember your covenant forever,
            the word you commanded, for a thousand
            generations,
   the covenant you made with Abraham,
            the oath you swore to Isaac.
   You confirmed it to Jacob as a decree,
            to Israel as an everlasting covenant:
   “To you I will give the land of Canaan
            as the portion you will inherit.”
   And as Abraham's offspring
        we Gentiles have received the promise
that we would become heirs of the world
through the righteousness that comes by faith.
   For the Scripture also foresaw that God would
            justify us, the Gentiles, by faith,
            and announced the gospel in advance to
            Abraham:
            “All nations will be blessed through you.”
   So those of us who have faith are blessed
            along with Abraham, the man of faith.

   When Israel were but few in number,
            few indeed, and strangers in it,
   they wandered from nation to nation,
            from one kingdom to another.
   But you, O Lord, allowed no one to oppress
            them;
            for their sake you rebuked kings:
   “Do not touch my anointed ones;
            do my prophets no harm.”

   You called down famine on the land
            and destroyed all their supplies of food;
    and you sent a man before them—
            Joseph, sold as a slave.
   They bruised his feet with shackles,
            his neck was put in irons,
   till what he foretold came to pass,
            till the word of the Lord proved him true.
   The king sent and released him,
            the ruler of peoples set him free.
   He made him master of his household,
            ruler over all he possessed,
   to instruct his princes as he pleased
            and teach his elders wisdom.

   Then Israel entered Egypt;
            Jacob lived as an alien in the land of Ham.
    You made your people very fruitful O Lord;
            you made them too numerous for their foes,
   whose hearts you turned to hate your people,
            to conspire against your servants.
   You sent Moses your servant,
            and Aaron, whom you had chosen.
   They performed your miraculous signs among
            them,
            your wonders in the land of Ham.
   You sent darkness and made the land dark—
            for had they not rebelled against your words?
   You turned their waters into blood,
            causing their fish to die.
   Their land teemed with frogs,
            which went up into the bedrooms of their
            rulers.
   You spoke, and there came swarms of flies,
            and gnats throughout their country.
   You turned their rain into hail,
            with lightning throughout their land;
   you struck down their vines and fig trees
            and shattered the trees of their country.
   You spoke, and the locusts came,
            grasshoppers without number;
   they ate up every green thing in their land,
            ate up the produce of their soil.
   Then you struck down all the firstborn in their
            land,
            the first fruits of all their manhood.

Thanking God for the promises we now share with Israel
   You brought out Israel, laden with silver and gold,
            and from among their tribes no one faltered.
   Egypt was glad when they left,
            because dread of Israel had fallen on them.
   You spread out a cloud as a covering,
            and a fire to give light at night.
   They asked, and you brought them quail
            and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
   You opened the rock, and water gushed out;
            like a river it flowed in the desert.
   They were all under the cloud
            and they all passed through the sea.
   They were all baptised into Moses
            in the cloud and in the sea.
   They all ate the same spiritual food
         and drank the same spiritual drink;
   for they drank from the spiritual rock that
            accompanied them,
            and that rock was Christ.

   You remembered your holy promise
            given to your servant Abraham,
  and you redeemed us in order that the blessing
            given to Abraham
            might come to us, the Gentiles,
            through Christ Jesus,
   so that by faith
            we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
   You brought out all your people with rejoicing,
            your chosen ones with shouts of joy;
   Now give us the lands of the nations,
            that we might fall heir to what others have
            toiled for—
   that we might keep your precepts
            and observe your laws.
   For by this we know that we love your children,
           when we love you and keep your commandments.
   For this is our love for you, and your love for us,
          that we keep your commandments.
          and your commandments are not burdensome.

   For through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs
            together with Israel,
            members together of one body,
            and sharers together in the promise in Christ
            Jesus.
   Since all authority in heaven and on earth
            has been given to him,
   help us to go and make disciples of all nations,
            baptizing them in the name of the Father
            and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
   and teaching them to obey everything
            he has commanded us.
             Praise the Lord.

Psalm 105

1   Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name;
            make known among the nations what he
            has done.
2   Sing to him, sing praise to him;
            tell of all his wonderful acts.
3   Glory in his holy name;
            let the hearts of those who seek the LORD
            rejoice.
4   Look to the LORD and his strength;

5   Remember the wonders he has done,
            his miracles, and the judgments he
