Psalm 111 Prayed

Psalm 111 Prayed
Praising Jesus for the Bible

   Praise the Lord Jesus.

   I will extol you, Lord Jesus, with all my heart
            in the council of the upright
            and in the assembly of my church.

   Great are your works, O Lord Jesus;
            they are pondered by all who delight in them.
   Glorious and majestic are your deeds,
            and your righteousness endures forever.
   In the Scriptures, you have caused your wonders to
            be remembered.
            You are gracious and compassionate.
   You provide food for those who fear you;
            you remember your covenant forever.
   You have shown your people the power of your
            works,
            giving us the lands of other nations,
   as we go and make disciples of all nations,
            baptising them in the name
            of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
            Spirit,
   and teaching them to obey
            everything you have commanded us.

   The works of your hands are faithful and just;
            all your precepts in the Bible are trustworthy.
   They are steadfast for ever and ever,
            done in faithfulness and uprightness.
   You provided redemption for your people;
   You ordained your covenant forever—
            holy and awesome is your name.
   For once we were separate from you,
            excluded from citizenship in Israel
            and foreigners to the covenants of promise
   without hope
            and without God in the world.
   But now in you, all of us, who were far away,
            have been brought near by your blood.
   Because in you we have redemption through your
            blood,
            the forgiveness of sins,
   in accordance with the riches of God’s grace,
            that he lavished on us with all wisdom and
            understanding.
   For in the Bible we have the word of the prophets
             made more certain,
            and we do well to pay attention to it
            as to a light shining in a dark place,
   because the Word of God came to them,
            and the Scripture cannot be broken.

   Fear and respect for you, Lord Jesus, is the
            beginning of wisdom;
            all who follow your precepts in the Bible
            have good understanding.
            To you belongs eternal praise.

Psalm 111

1   Praise the LORD.

      I will extol the LORD with all my heart
            in the council of the upright and in the
            assembly.

2   Great are the works of the LORD;
            they are pondered by all who delight in
            them.
3   Glorious and majestic are his deeds,
            and his righteousness endures forever.
4   He has caused his wonders to be
            remembered;
            the LORD is gracious and compassionate.
5   He provides food for those who fear him;
            he remembers his covenant forever.
6   He has shown his people the power of his
            works,
            giving them the lands of other nations.
Matt. 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

7   The works of his hands are faithful and just;
            all his precepts are trustworthy.
8   They are steadfast for ever and ever,
            done in faithfulness and uprightness.
9   He provided redemption for his people;
            he ordained his covenant forever—
            holy and awesome is his name.
Eph. 2:12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.  13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.
Eph. 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
2Pet. 1:19                And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place,
John 10:35 .. to whom the word of God came—and the Scripture cannot be broken…
10   The fear of the LORD is the beginning of
            wisdom;
            all who follow his precepts have good
            understanding.

            To him belongs eternal praise.
