Psalm 141 Prayed

Psalm 141 Prayed
Dedicating myself to God

   O Lord, I call to you; come quickly to me.
              Hear my voice when I call to you.
   Help me to be imitator of you, O God,
              as your dearly loved child
           and help me to live a life of love,
   just as Christ loved me and gave himself up for me
              as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to you, O
              God.
   In view of your mercy,
              help me to offer my body as a living sacrifice,
   holy and pleasing to you,
              for this is my spiritual act of worship to you O
              God. .
   May my prayer be set before you like incense;
              may the lifting up of my hands
              be like the ancient evening sacrifice.

   Set a guard over my mouth, O Jesus;
              keep watch over the door of my lips.
   Let not my heart be drawn to what is evil,
              to take part in wicked deeds
   with men who are evildoers;
              let me not eat of their delicacies.

   Let a righteous friend strike me with the truth
              —it is a kindness;
              let him rebuke me—it is oil on my head.
              My head will not refuse it.
   Let me receive your Word faithfully preached,
              in season and out of season.
   Let it correct, rebuke and encourage me,
              with great patience and careful instruction.

    Yet my prayer is ever against
              the deeds of evildoers;
   Let their rulers be thrown down from the
              cliffs,
              so the Wicked One will learn that your words
              were well spoken:
   For you said to Satan O Lord Jesus,
               “The LORD rebuke you, Satan!
   Now is the time for judgment on this world;
              now the prince of this world will be driven
              out.”
   Let him remember how you saw him fall
              like lightning from heaven.
   Let these spiritual forces say, “As one ploughs and
               breaks up the earth,
              so our bones have been scattered at the mouth
              of the grave.’”

    But my eyes are fixed on you, O Sovereign Lord
              Jesus;
              in you I take refuge—do not give me over to
              death.
    Keep me from the snares they have laid for me,
              from the traps of sin set by these spiritual
              evildoers.
    Let the Wicked One fall into his own net,
              while I pass by in safety.
