Psalm 95 Prayed

Psalm 95 Prayed
Praising God for the gospel

  Come Holy Spirit, let us sing for joy to the Lord
            Jesus;
            let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
   Let us come before him with thanksgiving
            and extol him with music and song.

   O Lord Jesus you are the great God,
            the great King above all gods.
  You are the One who lives
            for ever and ever.
   You created the heavens
            and all that is in them,
   the earth and all that is in it,
            the sea and all that is in it.
  In your hand are the depths of the earth,
            and the mountain peaks belong to you.
   The sea is yours, for you made it,
            and your hands formed the dry land.

   Come, Holy Spirit, help us bow down in worship,
            let us kneel before the Lord Jesus our Maker;
   for he is our God
            and we are the people of his pasture,
            the flock under his care.

   O Father, make each one of us willing to hear your
             voice today.
             Do not let us harden our hearts as ancient Israel
            did at Meribah,
            as they did that day at Massah in the desert,
   where their forefathers tested and tried you,
            because the Israelites quarrelled,
            they tested you saying,
   “Is the Lord among us or not?”,
            though they had seen what you did for them.
   For forty years you were angry with that
            generation;
            You said, “They are a people whose hearts go
            astray,
            and they have not known my ways.”
   So you declared on oath in your anger,
            “They shall never enter my rest.”
   They were not able to enter, because of their
            unbelief.
            but the promise of entering your rest still
            stands.
   There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for your people
            O God;
            for anyone who enters your rest
            also rests from their own work,
            just as you did from yours.
   Help us, therefore, to make every effort to enter
            that rest,
            so that we will not fall by following their
            example of disobedience.
   Therefore O Lord, we will not work to earn our
            salvation,
            but each one of us will trust in you,
            who justifies the wicked.
   Let our faith be credited to us as
            righteousness.

   Since we have been justified through faith,
            we have peace with you through our Lord
            Jesus Christ,
   through whom we have gained access by faith
            into this grace in which we now stand.
   And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God,
            and hope does not disappoint us,
   because you have poured out your love
            into our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
            whom you have given us.

Psalm 95

   Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD;
            let us shout aloud to the Rock of our
            salvation.
2   Let us come before him with thanksgiving
            and extol him with music and song.

3   For the LORD is the great God,
            the great King above all gods.
Rev. 10:6 …him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it…
4   In his hand are the depths of the earth,
            and the mountain peaks belong to him.
5   The sea is his, for he made it,
            and his hands formed the dry land.
6   Come, let us bow down in worship,
            let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;
7   for he is our God
            and we are the people of his pasture,
            the flock under his care.

     Today, if you hear his voice,
8            do not harden your hearts as you did at
            Meribah,
            as you did that day at Massah in the
            desert,
9a   where your fathers tested and tried me,
Ex. 17:7 And he called the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarrelled and because they tested the LORD saying, “Is the LORD among us or not?”
9b            though they had seen what I did.
10   For forty years I was angry with that
            generation;
            I said, “They are a people whose hearts go
            astray,
            and they have not known my ways.”
11   So I declared on oath in my anger,
            “They shall never enter my rest.”
Heb. 3:19 So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.
Heb. 4:1 Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it.
Heb. 4:9 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God;  10 for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his.  11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience.
Rom. 4:5 However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.

Rom. 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,  2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God...  5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
