Psalm 26 Prayed

Psalm 26 Prayed
The perfections of Christ
and his love for the dwelling place of God

   You were vindicated by your Father, O Lord Jesus,
            for you led a blameless life;
   You trusted in him
            without wavering.
   You were tested by him and tried by him
            he examined your heart and your mind;
    for his love was ever before you,
            and you walked continually in his truth.
   You did not sit in agreement
            with deceitful men like the Pharisees ,
            nor did you consort with hypocrites;
   You abhorred the assembly of evildoers
            and refused to sit with the wicked.
   You washed your hands in innocence,
            and went about your Father's altar, O Lord,
   proclaiming aloud his praise
            and telling of all his wonderful deeds.
   Each day you were teaching at the temple,
            and each evening you went out
            to spend the night on the hill
            called the Mount of Olives,
   and all the people came early in the morning
            to hear you at the temple.
   You loved the house where your
            Father lived, O Lord,
            the place where his glory dwelt.

   Wicked men tried to seize you,
            but no one laid a hand on you,
            because your time had not yet come.
   The chief priests and the Pharisees
            sent temple guards to arrest you.
   But you were able to cry to God for deliverance,
            without hypocrisy you could pray:
   “Do not take away my soul along with sinners,
            my life with bloodthirsty men,
   in whose hands are wicked schemes,
            whose right hands are full of bribes.
   But I lead a blameless life;
            redeem me and be merciful to me.”

   You still love the house where your Father lives,
            O Lord Jesus,
            the place where his glory dwells.
   You loved the Church
            and gave your self up for her.
   You love the church of the living God,
            the pillar and foundation of the truth,
   built on the foundation of the apostles
            and prophets,
            with you yourself as the chief cornerstone.
   In you the whole building is joined together
            and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.
   And in you, we are being built together
            to become a dwelling in which God lives
            by the Holy Spirit.
   Therefore my feet can stand on level ground;
            in the great assembly of the Church
            I will praise you.

Psalm 26
Of David.

1   Vindicate me, O LORD,
            for I have led a blameless life;
      I have trusted in the LORD
            without wavering.
2    Test me, O LORD, and try me,
            examine my heart and my mind;
3    for your love is ever before me,
            and I walk continually in your truth.
4    I do not sit with deceitful men,
            nor do I consort with hypocrites;
5    I abhor the assembly of evildoers
            and refuse to sit with the wicked.
6    I wash my hands in innocence,
            and go about your altar, O LORD,
7    proclaiming aloud your praise
            and telling of all your wonderful deeds.
Luke 21:37  Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening he went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives,  38 and all the people came early in the morning to hear him at the temple.
8    I love the house where you live, O LORD,
            the place where your glory dwells.

John 7:30  At this they tried to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his time had not yet come… 32  ..Then the chief priests and the Pharisees sent temple guards to arrest him.

9   Do not take away my soul along with sinners,
            my life with bloodthirsty men,
10  in whose hands are wicked schemes,
            whose right hands are full of bribes.
11   But I lead a blameless life;
            redeem me and be merciful to me.

Eph. 5:25  …Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
1Tim. 3:15 ..God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
Eph. 2: 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.  21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.  22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
12   My feet stand on level ground;
            in the great assembly I will praise the
            LORD.
