Psalm 43 Prayed

Psalm 43 Prayed
Praying for God to vindicate and revive his Church

   Vindicate your Church, O God,
            and plead our cause against this
            ungodly culture;
            rescue your Church from deceitful
            and wicked people.
   You are God our stronghold.
            Why have you rejected us?

    Why must we go about mourning,
            oppressed by the enemy, Satan?
   Send forth your light and your truth,
            empower us with your Word the Bible,
            let it guide us;
   let it bring us to your holy mountain,
            the city of the living God,
    the Church of the firstborn,
            whose names are written in heaven,
            to the place where you dwell.

   Then will we go to the altar of God,
            to you, O God, our joy and our delight.
   We will feast at the altar
            from which those who ministered
            at ancient Israel’s tabernacle
            had no right to eat.
   Through Jesus we will continually offer to you
            a sacrifice of praise,
            the fruit of lips that confess your name.
   We will praise you with musical instruments,
            O God, our God.

   Why are you downcast, O my soul?
            Why so disturbed within me?
    Put your hope in God,
            for we will yet praise him,
            because Jesus is our Saviour and our God.

Psalm 43

1   Vindicate me, O God,
            and plead my cause against
            an ungodly nation;
            rescue me from deceitful and wicked men.
2   You are God my stronghold.
            Why have you rejected me?

      Why must I go about mourning,
            oppressed by the enemy?
3a   Send forth your light and your truth,
            let them guide me;
     let them bring me to your holy mountain,
Heb. 12:22    But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God...  23 to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven...
3b            to the place where you dwell.

4a  Then will I go to the altar of God,
            to God, my joy and my delight.
Heb. 13:10 We have an altar from which those who minister at the tabernacle have no right to eat.
Heb. 13:15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that confess his name.
4b  I will praise you with the harp,
            O God, my God.

5   Why are you downcast, O my soul?
            Why so disturbed within me?
    Put your hope in God,
            for I will yet praise him,
            my Saviour and my God.
