Psalm 99 Prayed

Psalm 99 Prayed
Worshiping our Priest, King Jesus

   Lord Jesus, you reign,
            let the nations tremble;
   you sit enthroned between the cherubim,
            let the earth shake.
   Lord Jesus, you are great in your Church;
            you are exalted over all the nations.
   Let them praise your great and awesome name—
            you are holy.
   King Jesus, you are mighty, you love justice—
            you have established equity;
   in the Church you have done
            what is just and right.
   We exalt you, Lord Jesus our God,
            and worship at your footstool;
            you are holy.

   Moses and Aaron were among your priests,
            Samuel was among those who called on your
            name;
   they called on the Lord
            and you answered them.
   You spoke to them from the pillar of cloud;
            they kept your statutes and the decrees you
            gave them.
   But you have been found worthy of greater honour
            than Moses,
            just as the builder of a house has greater
            honour than the house itself.
   For every house is built by someone,
            but God is the builder of everything.
   Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house,
            But you are faithful as a Son over God’s
            house, O Christ.
   And we are your house, if we hold on to our
            courage and the hope of which we boast.

   O Lord Jesus our God,
            you answered them,
   for you were to Israel a forgiving God,
            though you punished their misdeeds.
   So who is he that condemns?
            Christ Jesus, you died—
   more than that, you were raised to life—
            you are at the right hand of God
            and are also interceding for us.
   Since we have you as a great high priest
            who has gone through the heavens,
            Jesus, O Son of God,
            help us hold firmly to the faith we profess.
   For with you, we do not have a high priest who is
            unable to sympathize with our weaknesses,
            but we have one who has been tempted in
            every way, just as we are—
            yet was without sin.
   Help us then approach the throne of grace with
            confidence,
            so that we may receive mercy
            and find grace to help us in our time of need.

   We exalt you Lord Jesus our God
            and worship at your holy mountain,
            for you, Lord Jesus our God, are holy.

Psalm 99

1   The LORD reigns,
            let the nations tremble;
      he sits enthroned between the cherubim,
            let the earth shake.
2   Great is the LORD in Zion;
            he is exalted over all the nations.
3    Let them praise your great and awesome
            name—
            he is holy.
4   The King is mighty, he loves justice—
            you have established equity;
      in Jacob you have done
            what is just and right.
5   Exalt the LORD our God
            and worship at his footstool;
            he is holy.

6   Moses and Aaron were among his priests,
            Samuel was among those who called on
            his name;
     they called on the LORD
            and he answered them.
7   He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud;
            they kept his statutes and the decrees he
            gave them.
Heb. 3:3 Jesus has been found worthy of greater honour than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honour than the house itself.  4 For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.  5 Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house, testifying to what would be said in the future.  6 But Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast.
8   O LORD our God,
            you answered them;
      you were to Israel a forgiving God,
            though you punished their misdeeds.
Rom. 8:34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

Heb. 4:14  Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.  15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin.  16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

9   Exalt the LORD our God
            and worship at his holy mountain,
            for the LORD our God is holy.
