Psalm 142 Prayed

Psalm 142 Prayed
Trusting in Jesus amidst life’s troubles

   I cry aloud to you, Lord Jesus;
              I lift up my voice to you for mercy, O Lord.
   I pour out my complaint before you;
              before you I tell all my troubles.

   When my spirit grows faint within me,
              it is you who know my way.
   In the path where I walk
              the devil has hidden a snare for me.
   Look to my right and see;
              no one is concerned for me.

   I have no other refuge than you, Jesus;
              no one cares for my life as you do.
   Therefore I will cast all my anxiety on you
              because you care for me.
   I cry to you, O Lord Jesus;
              I say, “You are my refuge,
              my portion in the land of the living.”
   Listen to my cry,
              for I am in desperate need;
   rescue me from those who pursue me,
              for they are too strong for me.
   When I am cursed,
              help me to bless;
   when I am persecuted,
              help me to endure it.
   when I am slandered,
              help me to answer kindly.
   Help me to seek first your kingdom
              and your righteousness,
   and let all the things I need
               be given to me as well.
   Help me not worry about tomorrow,
              for tomorrow will worry about itself.
              Each day has enough trouble of its own.
   Keep my life free from the love of money
              and help me be content with what I have,
              because you have said,
   “Never will I leave you;
              never will I forsake you.”
   So with confidence I can say,
              “You are my helper; I will not be afraid.
              What can man do to me?”
Set me free from my prison of doubt and despair,
              that I may praise your name.
   Then the righteous will gather about me
              because of your goodness to me.

Psalm 142
A maskil of David. When he was in the cave. A prayer.

1   I cry aloud to the LORD;
              I lift up my voice to the LORD for mercy.
2   I pour out my complaint before him;
              before him I tell my trouble.

3   When my spirit grows faint within me,
              it is you who know my way.
      In the path where I walk
              men have hidden a snare for me.
4   Look to my right and see;
              no one is concerned for me.

      I have no refuge;
              no one cares for my life.
1Pet. 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
5   I cry to you, O LORD;
              I say, “You are my refuge,
              my portion in the land of the living.”
6   Listen to my cry,
              for I am in desperate need;
     rescue me from those who pursue me,
              for they are too strong for me.
1Cor. 4:12 …When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it;  13 when we are slandered, we answer kindly…
Mat 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Heb. 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” 6 So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

7    Set me free from my prison,
              that I may praise your name.
      Then the righteous will gather about me
              because of your goodness to me.
