Psalm 138 Prayed

Psalm 138
Praising God for saving me

   I will praise you, O Father, with all my heart;
              before the “gods” I will sing your praise.
   I will bow down toward your holy temple
              and will praise your name
              for your love and your faithfulness,
   for you have exalted above all things
              the name ‘Jesus’ and your Word the Bible.
   Because Jesus lives forever,
              he has a permanent priesthood.
   Therefore he is able to save me completely,
              as I come to you through him, O Father,
              as he always lives to intercede for me.
   Such a high priest meets my need –
              one who is holy, blameless, pure,
               set apart from sinners,
               exalted above the heavens.
   Therefore when I called, you answered me;
              you made me bold and stout-hearted.

   May all the governments of the earth praise you, O
              Lord Jesus,
              when they hear the words of your mouth.
   May they sing of your ways, Lord Jesus,
              for your glory is great, O Lord.

   Though you are the Lord on high,
              you look upon the lowly,
              but the proud you know from afar.
   For your Father has hidden these things
              from the wise and learned,
              and revealed them to little children.
   Therefore I come to you
              for I am weary and burdened,
              I trust that you will give me rest.
   I will take your yoke upon me and learn from you,
              for you are gentle and humble in heart,
              and I will find rest for my soul.
   For you yoke is easy
              and your burden is light.
   Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
              you will preserve my life;
   you will stretch out your hand
              against the anger of my spiritual foes,
              with your right hand you save me.
   You, O Lord, will fulfil your purpose for me;
              your love, O Jesus, endures forever—
              you will not abandon the works of your hands.
   Therefore I can be confident of this,
              that since you have begun a good work in me,
              you will carry it on until your day, O Christ Jesus.

Psalm 138
Of David.

1   I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart;
              before the “gods” I will sing your praise.
2   I will bow down toward your holy temple
              and will praise your name
              for your love and your faithfulness,
   for you have exalted above all things
              your name and your word.
Heb. 7:24 but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.  25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. 26 Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.

3   When I called, you answered me;
              you made me bold and stout-hearted.

4   May all the kings of the earth praise you, O
              LORD,
              when they hear the words of your mouth.
5   May they sing of the ways of the LORD,
              for the glory of the LORD is great.

6   Though the LORD is on high,
              he looks upon the lowly,
              but the proud he knows from afar.
Matt. 11:25   At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children… 28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
7   Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
              you preserve my life;
   you stretch out your hand against the anger of
              my foes,
              with your right hand you save me.
8   The LORD will fulfil [his purpose] for me;
              your love, O LORD, endures forever—
do not abandon the works of your hands.
Phil. 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
