Psalm 149 Prayed

Psalm 149 Prayed
Praising King Jesus

   O how we praise you, Lord Jesus.

   We sing to you a new song, Lord Jesus;
              your praise in the assembly of the saints:
   We the Church rejoice in our Maker;
              we the people of God are glad in you.
              O Jesus, you are our King.
   We praise your name with dancing
              and make music to you with tambourine and
              harp.
   For you take delight in us, you people, O Lord;
              you crown the humble with salvation.
   We, your saints, rejoice in this honour
              and we sing for joy on our beds.

   May the praise of God be in our mouths
              and the double-edged sword in our hands.
   For the Word of God is living and active.
              Sharper than any double-edged sword,
   it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit,
              joints and marrow;
   it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart,
              to inflict your vengeance on behalf of the
              nations;
              the punishment of the cross for the peoples.
   For you were pierced for our transgressions,
              you were crushed for our iniquities;
   the punishment that brought us peace was upon
              you,
              and by your wounds we are healed.
   Let the Word of God bind all governments with
              fetters,
              their leaders with shackles of iron,
              to carry out the sentence written against them,
   so that we may live peaceful and quiet lives,
              in all godliness and holiness.
   For this is good and pleases you, our Saviour,
              because you want all people to be saved,
              and come to a knowledge of the truth.
   This is the glory of all your saints.
               O, how we praise you, Lord Jesus.

Psalm 149

1    Praise the LORD.

   Sing to the LORD a new song,
              his praise in the assembly of the saints.

2   Let Israel rejoice in their Maker;
              let the people of Zion be glad in their King.
3   Let them praise his name with dancing
              and make music to him with tambourine and harp.
4   For the LORD takes delight in his people;
              he crowns the humble with salvation.
5   Let the saints rejoice in this honour
              and sing for joy on their beds.
6   May the praise of God be in their mouths
              and a double-edged sword in their hands,
Heb. 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
7  to inflict vengeance on the nations
              and punishment on the peoples,
Is. 53:5   But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
8   to bind their kings with fetters,
              their nobles with shackles of iron,
9a   to carry out the sentence written against them.
1Tim. 2:2 [pray] for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.  3 This is good, and pleases God our Saviour,  4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
9b              This is the glory of all his saints.

               Praise the LORD.
