Psalm 135 Prayed

Psalm 135 Prayed
Praising the Lord for saving us

   Praise the Lord.
   Praise the name of the Lord Jesus;
              praise him, you servants of the Lord,
   you who minister in the house of the Lord
              in the courts of the house of our God.

  Praise the Lord, for the Lord Jesus is good;
              sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant.
   For the Lord has chosen Israel to be his own;
              the Church to be his treasured possession.

   I know that you are great, O Lord,

              that our Lord is greater than all gods.
   You do whatever pleases you,

              in the heavens and on the earth,

              in the seas and all their depths.
   You make clouds rise from the ends of the earth;

              you send lightning with the rain

              and bring out the wind from your
              storehouses.

   To redeem your people in the Old Testament, O
              Lord,
              you struck down the firstborn of Egypt,

              the firstborn of men and animals.
   You sent your signs and wonders into the midst of
              Egypt,

   against Pharaoh and all his servants.
              You struck down many nations

              and killed mighty kings—
              Sihon king of the Amorites,

              Og king of Bashan

   and all the kings of Canaan —
              and you gave their land as an inheritance,

              an inheritance to your people Israel.

   To redeem your people in the New Testament, O
                      Lord,
              you disarmed the spiritual powers and
              authorities,
                      you made a public spectacle of them,
              triumphing over them by the cross.
   Now you are the faithful witness,
              the firstborn from the dead,
              and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
   You love us and have freed us from our sins by
              your blood,
              you have made us to be a kingdom and priests
   to serve our God and Father,
              to him be glory and power for ever and ever!
   In your great mercy you have given us new birth
              into a living hope through your resurrection
              from the dead,
   and into an inheritance that can never perish,
              spoil or fade—
              kept in heaven for us.

   Your name, O Lord, endures forever,

              your renown, O Lord, through all
              generations.
   For you have vindicated your people

              and you have had compassion on your
              servants.

   The idols of the nations are silver and gold,

              made by the hands of men.
   They have mouths, but cannot speak,

              eyes, but they cannot see;
              they have ears, but cannot hear,

              nor is there breath in their mouths.
   Those who make them will be like them,
              and so will all who trust in them.
   And what agreement is there
              between your temple, O God, and idols?
    For we are your temple, O living God.
              As you have said:
   “I will live with them and walk among them,
              and I will be their God,
              and they will be my people.”

   O house of Israel, praise the Lord Jesus;

              O house of Aaron, praise the Lord Jesus;
   O house of Levi, praise the Lord Jesus;

              you who fear him, praise the Lord Jesus.
   O Church of Christ, praise the Lord Jesus;
              O Church of Jesus, praise the Lord Jesus;
   O Church of God, praise the Lord Jesus;
              you who love him, praise the Lord Jesus.

   Praise be to you, Lord, in the heavenly Zion,

              to you who dwells in the Jerusalem that is
              above.

Psalm 135

1   Praise the LORD.
     Praise the name of the LORD;
              praise him, you servants of the LORD,
2   you who minister in the house of the LORD,
              in the courts of the house of our God.
3   Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good;
              sing praise to his name, for that is
              pleasant.
4   For the LORD has chosen Jacob to be his
              own,
              Israel to be his treasured possession.
5   I know that the LORD is great,
              that our Lord is greater than all gods.
6   The LORD does whatever pleases him,
              in the heavens and on the earth,
              in the seas and all their depths.
7   He makes clouds rise from the ends of the
              earth;
              he sends lightning with the rain
              and brings out the wind from his
              storehouses.
8   He struck down the firstborn of Egypt,
              the firstborn of men and animals.
9   He sent his signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt,
              against Pharaoh and all his servants.
10   He struck down many nations
              and killed mighty kings—
11   Sihon king of the Amorites,
              Og king of Bashan
              and all the kings of Canaan—
12   and he gave their land as an inheritance,
              an inheritance to his people Israel.

Col. 2:15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
Rev. 1:5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,  6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
1Pet. 1:3 … In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you,

13   Your name, O LORD, endures forever,
              your renown, O LORD, through all
              generations.
14   For the LORD will vindicate his people
              and have compassion on his servants.

15   The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
                            made by the hands of men.
16 They have mouths, but cannot speak,
              eyes, but they cannot see;
17   they have ears, but cannot hear,
              nor is there breath in their mouths.
2Cor. 6:16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

18   Those who make them will be like them,
              and so will all who trust in them.
19   O house of Israel, praise the LORD;
              O house of Aaron, praise the LORD;
20   O house of Levi, praise the LORD;
                            you who fear him, praise the LORD.

21a   Praise be to the LORD from Zion,
              to him who dwells in Jerusalem.
Heb. 12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem…
Gal. 4:26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free…
21b              Praise the LORD.

   We praise you, Lord Jesus.
