Psalm 84 Prayed

Psalm 84 Prayed
The Hope of Heaven with Jesus

   How lovely is your dwelling place,
            O Lord Jesus Almighty!
   My soul yearns, even faints,
            for the courts of the Lord Jesus;
   my heart and my flesh cry out
            for the living God.

   Even the sparrow has found a home,
            and the swallow a nest for herself,
            where she may have her young—
   a place near your altar,
            O Jesus Almighty, my King and my God.
   Blessed are those who dwell in your house in
            heaven;
            they are ever praising you.
   They join the voice of many angels,
            numbering thousands upon thousands,
            and ten thousand times ten thousand.
   They encircle your throne
            and the living creatures and the elders,
            and in a loud voice they sing:
   “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
            to receive power and wealth and wisdom and
            strength
            and honour and glory and praise!”

   But if I am to go on living in the body,
            let this mean fruitful labour for me.
   Yet what shall I choose? I do not know!
            I am torn between the two:
   I desire to depart and be with you, O Christ,
            which is better by far;
   but it is more necessary for those around me
             that I remain in the body.
   Convinced of this, I know that I will remain,
            and I will continue with all of my brothers
            and sisters in Christ
             for their progress and joy in the faith,

   So bless me, for my strength is in you,
            I have set my heart on pilgrimage.
   As I pass through valleys of weeping,
            make it a place of springs;
            where the autumn rains cover it with pools.
   Let me go from strength to strength,
            till I finally appear before you in Zion.
    When I come to Mount Zion,
            to the heavenly Jerusalem,
            the city of the living God.
   When I have join the thousands upon thousands
            of angels in joyful assembly,
    and all the church of the firstborn,
            whose names are written in heaven.
   When I am with you, O God,
            the judge of all people,
   and join  the spirits of righteous people made
            perfect,
            and finally see Jesus
            the mediator of the new covenant.

   For I know that you are the One who raised
            the Lord Jesus from the dead,
   so you will also raise me with Jesus,
            and present me together with all the saints
            in your presence.
   Therefore I will not lose heart.
            Though outwardly I am wasting away,
            yet inwardly you are renewing me day by day.
   For my light and momentary troubles
            are achieving for me an eternal glory
            that far outweighs them all.
   So I will fix my eyes not on what is seen,
            but on what is unseen.
    For what is seen is temporary,
            but what is unseen is eternal.

   Now I know that if the earthly tent of my body
            is destroyed,
            I have a building from you, O God,
   an eternal house in heaven,
            not built by human hands.
   Meanwhile I groan,
            longing to be clothed with my heavenly
            dwelling,
            because when I am clothed,
            I will not be found naked.
   For while I am in this tent,
            I groan and am burdened,
  because I do not wish to be unclothed
            but to be clothed with my heavenly dwelling,
   so that what is mortal
            may be swallowed up by life.

   Hear my prayer, O Lord God Almighty;
            listen to me, O God of the Church.
   Look upon our shield, O God the Father;
            look with favour on your Son, the Messiah.

  Better is one day in your courts
            than a thousand elsewhere;
   I would rather be a doorkeeper in your house,
            O my God
            than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
   For the Lord Jesus is a sun and shield;
            the Lord Jesus bestows favour and honour;
   no good thing does he withhold
            from those whose walk is blameless.
   O Lord Jesus Almighty,
            blessed is each one who trusts in you.

Psalm 84
For the director of music. According to gittith.
Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm.

1   How lovely is your dwelling place,
            O LORD Almighty!
2   My soul yearns, even faints,
            for the courts of the LORD;
   my heart and my flesh cry out
            for the living God.

3   Even the sparrow has found a home,
            and the swallow a nest for herself,
            where she may have her young—
   a place near your altar,
            O LORD Almighty, my King and my God.
4   Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
            they are ever praising you.    Selah
Rev. 5:11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12 In a loud voice they sang “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and praise!”

Phil. 1: 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labour for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know!  23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far;  24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.  25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,

5   Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
            who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.
6   As they pass through the Valley of Baca,
            they make it a place of springs;
            the autumn rains also cover it with pools.
7   They go from strength to strength,
            till each appears before God in Zion.
Heb. 12:22  But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,  23 to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect,  24 to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant…

2 Cor. 4:14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence.
2Cor. 4:16  Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.  18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

2Cor. 5:1  Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.  2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,  3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.  4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

8   Hear my prayer, O LORD God Almighty;
            listen to me, O God of Jacob.      Selah
9   Look upon our shield, O God;
            look with favour on your anointed one.

10   Better is one day in your courts
            than a thousand elsewhere;
       I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house
            of my God
            than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
11  For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
            the LORD bestows favour and honour;
      no good thing does he withhold
            from those whose walk is blameless.
12  O LORD Almighty,
            blessed is the man who trusts in you.
