Psalm 136 Prayed Giving thanks to God for redeeming us    We give thanks to you, O Lord, for you are good.               Your love endures forever.    We give thanks to you, the God of gods.               Your love endures forever.    We give thanks to you, the Lord of lords:               Your love endures forever.    We give thanks to you, the King of kings:               Your love endures forever.    We praise you, Lord Jesus, who alone does great               wonders,               Your love endures forever.    who by your understanding made the heavens,               Your love endures forever.    who spread out the earth upon the waters,               Your love endures forever.    who made the great lights—               Your love endures forever.    the sun to govern the day,               Your love endures forever.    the moon and stars to govern the night;               Your love endures forever.    We praise you O God, who struck down the               firstborn of Egypt in the Old Testament               Your love endures forever.    and brought Israel out from among them               Your love endures forever.    with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;               Your love endures forever.    who divided the Red Sea asunder               Your love endures forever.    and brought Israel through the midst of it,               Your love endures forever.    but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea;               Your love endures forever.    We praise you O God who led your people through               the desert,               Your love endures forever.    who struck down great kings,               Your love endures forever.    and killed mighty kings—               Your love endures forever.    Sihon king of the Amorites               Your love endures forever.    and Og king of Bashan—               Your love endures forever.    and gave their land as an inheritance,               Your love endures forever.    an inheritance to your servant Israel;               Your love endures forever.    We praise you God, who struck down Satan from               heaven in the New Testament,               Your grace endures forever.    and brought your Church out from among the lost,               Your grace endures forever.    with a mighty hand and outstretched arm.               Your grace endures forever.    Who gave us the waters of baptism               Your grace endures forever.    and brought the Church through the midst of it,               Your grace endures forever.    but swept Satan and his army into the sea;               Your grace endures forever.    We praise you Jesus, the God who leads his people                Your grace endures forever.    as aliens and strangers through this world,               Your grace endures forever.    because the prince of this world now stands               condemned.               Your grace endures forever.    You make us defy Caesar’s decrees,               Your grace endures forever.    saying that there is another king, one called Jesus.               Your grace endures forever.    For Jesus, you are God, the blessed and only Ruler,               Your grace endures forever.    the King of kings and Lord of lords               Your grace endures forever.    and gave us an inheritance  that can never perish,               spoil or fade,               Your grace endures forever.    an inheritance kept in heaven for us;               Your grace endures forever.    We praise you, O God, the One who remembered               us in our low estate               Your love endures forever.    and freed us from our spiritual enemies,               Your love endures forever.    You give food to every creature.               Your love endures forever.    So we give thanks to you, the God of heaven.               Your love endures forever.
